DemoGala is Thursday, October 11

demogala3.jpgI’ve never been to DemoGala before, so I’m not totally sure what to expect. It’s coming up on October 11th in Denver. I will of course let you know how it goes in a post-event blog post.

I was one of the judges this year for selecting the companies who will be showcased there. It looks like a great group of about 40 companies that made it. The emphasis this year is on technologies that people can directly experience at the event – so expect to be able to play with some neat stuff yourself while you’re there.

Brad Feld is doing an opening keynote, and Tim Armstrong, President of Advertising and Commerce for North America and a Vice-President of Google, Inc. will finish the day with his own keynote. Other speakers include Dr. William Gail of Microsoft Virtual Earth, Jon Nordmark of eBags, Kevin Survance of MapQuest and JB Holston of NewsGator.

I’m also moderating a panel in Track 2: “Innovation and Creation” called “Funding: What are my options?”. The panelists are Brad Feld of the Foundry Group and Mobius Venture Capital, Jim Pollock of AWhere, Troy Widgery of GoFast/Jetpack International, and Jim Franklin of Oracle. We’ll explore various funding options and learn how some of these entrepreneurs funded their companies.

Registration is $85-$395 depending on your situation. I hope to see you there – if you’re going, please comment so I know to look for you.
